Days to the United Nations
June, 2007
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
The meeting is designed to provide basic information regarding the United Nations system including the participation of Secretariat, the Nation States, and the Non-Government Organizations ( NGOs) and other groups that form the UN community. It will include an overview of the current UN agenda and a reflection of how your congregation or organization might be able to participate in UN activities.
This gathering is designed for those who are involved in justice and peace ministry who are interested in learning more about the workings of the UN. It is for those in leadership positions to would like to include the UN agenda in their worldview. It is for those involved in communications work for congregations and groups who have responsibility to provide information to people that include a broad perspective. It is for individuals who are interested in broadening their understanding of the United Nations system so that they can integrate it within their understanding of the world.
Please extend this invitation to those who might be interested in attending these Orientation Days. Our hope is to provide access and information to the United Nations in ways that will assist in broadening our view as Global Citizens and integrate this experience in everyday life and ministry.
If you need any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Lucianne Siers,
